Frequently Asked Questions

We know roofing projects can come with a lot of questions—especially when insurance is involved. That’s why we’ve put together this quick FAQ to help you feel more informed and confident before starting your project.

Not necessarily. It’s usually smarter to have a qualified roofer inspect your roof first. We’ll tell you if the damage justifies a claim — because once a claim is filed, it stays on your record whether it’s approved or not.
That’s common. If we believe there’s more damage than the adjuster documented, we can assist with a supplement request — which means we’ll provide additional photos, measurements, and code documentation to justify the full scope of the work.
Most homeowners pay just their deductible. Your insurance covers the rest. Be cautious of any roofer who offers to “waive your deductible” — that’s illegal in Texas and could void your claim.
  • ACV = Actual Cash Value — what your roof is worth today (depreciated value)
  • RCV = Replacement Cost Value — what it costs to fully replace it
  • You’ll usually receive the ACV check first, and the rest (RCV) after the job is complete.
It depends on your policy, but most require claims to be filed within 1 year of the damage date. That’s why it’s smart to have us inspect your roof shortly after a major storm.
Insurance only covers like-for-like replacement. However, we can show you upgrade options (such as impact-resistant shingles or ridge vents), and you can pay the difference if you’d like to enhance your roof.
No problem — just don’t let the funds expire or get retracted. We can help match the scope of work to your insurance paperwork and get the ball rolling.
Yes — we’re happy to meet the adjuster on-site to walk the roof together. It helps ensure nothing is missed and sets the tone for a fair, accurate scope of repairs.
Absolutely. We’ve helped hundreds of Texas homeowners navigate the insurance process, and we’ll make it feel simple, honest, and stress-free.
