How Financing Works

Section 25C Federal Tax Credits
Energy-efficient windows and certain exterior improvements qualify for federal tax credits under Section 25C of the IRS code. Understanding the annual reset can save you hundreds more.
Window Credits — $600/Year
The $600/year window tax credit resets every January 1. If you need 16 windows, consider installing 8 in December and 8 in January — that is $1,200 in credits across two tax years instead of $600.
Windows must meet ENERGY STAR Most Efficient criteria. Glacier provides the NFRC certification labels and manufacturer documentation needed for your tax filing.
Doors & Other Qualifiers
Exterior doors qualify for up to $250 per door, limited to $500 total per year. The same December/January strategy applies if you are replacing multiple doors.
HVAC systems (heat pumps) and certain insulation improvements also qualify under Section 25C but are separate from Glacier's services. Your tax advisor can help you stack credits across contractors.
We provide documentation — not tax advice. Consult your tax advisor for eligibility and filing requirements.
Phase Your Project Over 2–3 Years
You do not have to do everything at once. A phased approach protects your budget and maximizes tax credits.
Year 1
South & West Walls
Start with the most damage-prone sides. South-facing walls take the most UV degradation. West-facing walls absorb afternoon heat and driving rain. Replace windows on these sides first.
Claim up to $600 in Section 25C credits
Year 2
North & East Walls
Complete the remaining windows. North and east exposures see less weather stress, so they can wait. This phase finishes your window replacement across the entire home.
Claim up to $600 again — the credit resets annually
Year 3
Full Exterior Repaint
With all new windows and siding in good condition, a full repaint ties the project together. Your home looks finished and every surface is protected.
Total tax credits over 3 years: up to $1,800
This is not a sales trick — it is the same advice a financial planner would give you if they understood home exteriors.
Your Quote Won't Change
Glacier holds your quoted price for 90 days. If you are phasing a project, waiting on financing approval, or coordinating with an insurance adjuster, your price stays locked. No pressure, no expiring offers.
When NOT to Finance
We would rather lose a financing deal than put a customer in the wrong financial position. Here is our honest take.
You Have a Funded Insurance Claim
If your insurance claim covers the full cost of the project, use the insurance proceeds. There is no reason to take on monthly payments when the work is already funded.
You Are Selling Within 6 Months
If you are planning to sell your home in the near term, the ROI on financed improvements may not justify the monthly payments. Focus on repairs that directly affect sale price.
You Are Carrying High-Interest Debt
If the project is purely cosmetic and you have high-interest credit card debt, pay down the debt first. A fresh coat of paint can wait — 22% APR cannot.

Financing FAQs
What credit score do I need to finance a home exterior project?
Enhancify works with a range of credit profiles. The initial application is a soft credit pull that shows you available options without affecting your credit score. You will see your real rate and terms before making any commitment.
Can I combine financing with an insurance claim?
Yes. Many homeowners finance the deductible or upgrade costs that insurance does not cover. For example, insurance covers your roof replacement but you finance the window upgrade you have been putting off.
Is there a minimum project size for financing?
Financing is available on projects $2,500 and up. This covers most window, siding, roofing, and painting projects.
Can I finance just part of my project?
Yes. Many homeowners pay cash for one service and finance another. You can structure the project however works best for your budget.
